AI in photography: Enhancing reality or redefining it?
India TodayPhotographers worldwide are debating over one unsettling question: Is AI the future of photography? The AI market is booming, estimated at 200 billion U.S. dollars in 2023 and projected to exceed 1.8 trillion by 2030, according to Statista. Innovative tools like DALL.E and MidJourney enable entirely new images directing the creative boundaries to new heights. One thing we can lead with certain is that as impressive as AI is, to the human eye nothing can replace the raw emotion, the subtle interplay of light and shadow, and the unique perspective of the photographer. AI is there to help, enhance clarity in low-light conditions, or create stunning visuals but it lacks the emotional touch of a human, the camera person who brings his/her soul to the visual and gives them meaning.
