Man arrested after promising to get evidence against George Santos 'disappeared': report

Raw Story

Even for shamed fabulist and ousted lawmaker George Santos — his pitch was rich. The feds busted a Texas man reportedly trying to dupe former Rep. George Santos as well convicted actor Danny Masterson and others of being able to make incriminating materials go away and the rap on them dropped. Medina allegedly confessed to FBI investigators in an interview what he sought out individuals “who were, or whose family members were, facing criminal exposure" and offered his services that "could cause their criminal exposure to disappear in exchange for large sums of money.” “I work with prosecutors and, uh, judges throughout the United States and I want to give you the opportunity to offer my services," reads the text from a video Medina allegedly sent to "Individual-1" followed up with text messages, according to the affidavit. Thank you.” The victim "Individual-1" is unnamed, but later detailed as formerly representing New York’s 3rd Congressional District and facing criminal charges. In a response to CNN, Medina's attorney Joseph Veith said his client "eagerly anticipates confronting the allegations against him through the formal legal process."
