A controversial indie band which was accused of ripping off easyGroup's name has rebranded on Spotify. Easy Life received legal letters from the company who accused the band of 'riding on the coat tails of the valuable reputation' of firm. Indie band Easy Life were forced to change their name to Hard Life following a legal dispute with the firm The airline accused the band to using their branding to improve the group's profile. The firm said the band's tour poster copied the logo from an easyJet aircraft The company, founded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, pictured, said: 'Brand theft is profitable because it is the deliberate misleading of the consumer to think that they are part of the easy family in order to increase their own sales' A trademark lawyer told Far Out Magazine: 'You don’t need to worry about whether you will win in court if the other side is going to fold.' The band has already announced that it will be changing its name and it will pass all of its rights in the EASY LIFE name, along with the easylifemusic domain name, to easyGroup Ltd.'
