Faster and leaner, Eric Gordon is trying to fit into the Rockets' starting lineup

New York Times

— With the preseason tip-off just days away, the second day of Rockets training camp featured film study, defensive drills and scrimmaging. “That’s a routine I started last season but this year I do that after every practice,” he told The Athletic. “Yea, you know, I’m probably going to be playing a little more minutes this year,” Gordon told The Athletic. “You feel better as the year goes along,” he said, “especially when you get to the playoffs.” With Trevor Ariza no longer occupying the small forward spot, head coach Mike D’Antoni looks to be moving forward with his three-guard lineup, which debuted last season. “It’s about being in attack mode and being a game changer as long as I’m in the game.” Gordon is more concerned about the lineup that finishes games, whether they’re down five on the road versus Oklahoma City or up 22 on Orlando at home.
