E-Jamabandi software will be ready within a year: Krishna Byre Gowda
Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda informed the Legislative Council on Wednesday that the e-Jamabandi software would be ready within a year to speed up the Jamabandi process, a method of matching and regularising village- and taluk-level land records. E-Jamabandi is an online version of Jamabandi, which provides official confirmation of title deeds or land ownership documents. States such as Haryana have already successfully developed the electronic version of Jamabandi, and Karnataka was also developing e-Jamabandi software on a similar model, he said. He said the current Karnataka Land Revenue Act is very old, and a new Land Revenue Act would be brought in after conducting a comprehensive study to provide greater clarity and effective implementation at the field level.
