Budget 2025: Govt Empowers Street Vendors & Gig Workers with Credit, Healthcare, and Urban Reforms

The government is taking significant steps to empower street vendors and gig workers across the country by linking them to financial services. Over one lakh street vendors will receive credit cards with a limit of 3,000 rupees, aimed at boosting their economic capabilities. Along with financial support, these workers will be provided with identity cards and registered on the E-Shram portal, benefiting nearly 1 crore gig workers. The Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing clean water to every household, will be extended until 2028, ensuring sustainable urban development and improved living standards across the country.
