Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Committee vows to continue stir till PM announces withdrawal of the decision to privatise steel plant

Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Committee leaders and activists said they would continue their protest until Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes an official announcement that the government is withdrawing the strategic sale of RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The committee leaders raised slogans against the governments at the Centre and the State and said that their fight for the protection of the steel plant will not stop till the Prime Minister announces that the strategic sale of the steel plant is being withdrawn. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that it was wrong for some BJP leaders to speak in a way that would damage the spirit of the movement and the aspirations of people of the State The protest committee warned that they would be taught a befitting lesson if they spoke inappropriately towards the leaders of the trade unions and the protest for the protection of the plant. Meanwhile, leaders of CITU and Left parties led by Mr. M. Jaggu Naidu staged a protest at the Gandhi statue here on Wednesday, against the remarks made by BJP Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju on trade union leaders protesting for the protection of the steel plant.
