Abandoned working dogs facing euthanasia rescued from 'kill list' by Australian charity

Hundreds of thousands of working dogs end up in Australian pounds and animal shelters every year, and many are euthanized. Through their charity Australian Working Dog Rescue International, Carey and Di Edwards take on these working dog breeds, and along with a team of volunteers and carers the dogs are trained and adopted out to homes and farms across the country. Local councils provide the charity with what is called a 'kill list' of dogs in shelters and pounds that are soon facing euthanasia. The Edwards, and the team of volunteers across the country, focus on working dog breeds such as kelpies, cattle dogs, border collies and koolies.
