Chennai Metro Rail Limited will complete the land acquisition process for the Phase II Project in four months. The land acquisition started six years ago for the project, which comprises three corridors — Madhavaram to SIPCOT, Light House to Poonamallee and Madhavaram to Sholinganallur — and covers a distance of 118.9 km in the city. According to CMRL officials, the last leg of land acquisition work is under way on Rajiv Gandhi Salai. Land acquisition was delayed as CMRL decided to procure additional land along Rajiv Gandhi Salai.
