Amendments in Motor Vehicle Act will not apply in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided not to implement the penalties under the new Motor Vehicle Act which came into force from September 1. Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said that his government will first study the new rules in the Motor Vehicle Act and then take a decision. The Ministry of Road Transport last week notified the provisions of the Motor Vehicles 2019 that is applicable from September 1. The new amendments have increased several penalties for violations of traffic rules.
