NFL won’t discipline Ravens’ Zay Flowers after investigating alleged domestic violence incident
New York TimesThe Athletic has live coverage of NFL Draft Rounds 4-7. The NFL confirmed Thursday that Baltimore Ravens standout wide receiver Zay Flowers will not face disciplinary action after he was the subject of an investigation earlier this year into an alleged domestic incident in January. “Following a review, the NFL concluded there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that Zay Flowers engaged in any activity that violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” the league said in a statement. Per the released police reports, a woman arrived at the Acton Police Department in Massachusetts on Jan. 21 and said she was involved in a “violent domestic incident” in Owings Mills, Md., “where the suspect’s brother drew a firearm.” The woman told Acton Police that she was “physically assaulted” and “left with multiple bruises.” She said she called 911 but told the communications officer she was OK and then hung up the phone. A month later, it announced that “the investigation is now closed.” Police stated the investigation could be reopened “if additional information is obtained.” The Ravens’ first-round pick in 2023 after a prolific career at Boston College, Flowers had arguably the best rookie season for a wide receiver in team history.
