Hyderabad police seek 10-day custody of accused in gang rape case
Hindustan TimesThe Hyderabad police on Monday sought 10-day custody of four accused, including three juveniles, arrested in connection with gang rape of a minor girl, a police officer said, adding that manhunt for the fifth accused continued. Police have earlier said that the minor girl, who visited a pub in Hyderabad on May 28, was gang-raped by five persons including three juveniles. A senior police officer requesting anonymity said the investigating authorities on Monday recorded the statement of the survivor to ascertain the role of an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator’s son in the case. In their remand report submitted before the court on Monday, the police suspected the corporator’s son as the mastermind in the incident, said the senior officer cited above.
