Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy says 92% caste survey complete
India TodayTelangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced that 92 per cent of the state’s caste survey has been completed, reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment to advancing social justice. Highlighting the historical contributions of leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Indira Gandhi, Reddy said, “From providing land to the poor through the Agriculture Ceiling Act to empowering the people with education and voting rights, the Congress has always been at the forefront of social justice.” He further acknowledged initiatives from Rajiv Gandhi to PV Narasimha Rao, including the implementation of the Mandal Commission and women’s reservation in local governance. Reddy credited Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi for championing the caste census, stating that such measures are essential to ensuring equitable distribution of rights. He contrasted the Congress’s vision with what he described as the BJP’s disregard for constitutional principles, saying, “There are two families in the country: Modi’s family, which seeks to destroy the Constitution, and Rahul Gandhi’s family, which is fighting to protect it.” Reddy urged citizens to join the movement for constitutional protection, asserting that it transcends party lines.
