Centre sanctions 79 projects worth Rs 334 crore under technology development fund

The government has launched several initiatives aimed at transforming India into a research and technology hub, particularly in the defence sector. One of the key initiatives is the Technology Development Fund Scheme, a part of the Ministry of Defence’s "Make in India" initiative. Another significant initiative is the DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence, established across the country at institutions like IISc Bangalore and several IITs. The scheme supports around 300 start-ups, MSMEs, and individual innovators, as well as 20 partner incubators under the Defence Innovation Organisation. So far, the government has sanctioned 79 projects worth Rs 334.02 crore under the TDF scheme, and DRDO has set up 15 DIA-CoEs.
