TTD to Recruit 84 More Workers to Meet Demand for Srivari Laddus
Deccan ChronicleTIRUPATI:Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board has approved recruitment of 84 additional Potu workers to address shortage of staff caused by retirements and the increased demand for Srivari laddus and other prasadams. Currently, TTD employs 616 Potu workers, including 415 Vaishnavas and 201 non-Vaishnavas, who together produce 3.5 lakh small laddus, 6,000 big laddus, and 3,500 vadas daily. Similarly, 12 workers will be needed for 4,080 big laddus, at a rate of 330 units per worker, and 30 workers for 3,570 vadas, each producing 120 units daily. The old Boondhi Potu facility has been tasked with increasing production by an additional 50,000 small laddus, 4,000 big laddus and 3,500 vadas daily. Although the total workforce required to meet these targets is 115, the committee has recommended immediate recruitment of 84 workers to address urgent needs.The monthly wage of 74 Vaishnavas, at ₹42,137.52 per worker, will amount to ₹31.18 lakh, while the wages 10 non-Vaishnavas will be ₹41,767 per worker, totalling to ₹4.17 lakh.
