Chhattisgarh HC Grants Divorce to Woman Citing Husband’s Excessive Drinking, Illicit Relationship with other Women

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh high court on Wednesday granted divorce to a woman ending her 34-year-long marriage on the ground of her husband’s excessive drinking habit and illicit relationship with other women. A division bench comprising Justice Rajani Dubey and Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, while granting divorce to the woman, observed that ‘The man indulged in excessive drinking and had illicit relationships with other women. The high court overturned the family court’s verdict by granting divorce to the woman. The husband has neither sought employment to support the family nor is loyal to the marriage, the high court said while granting divorce to the woman.
