Assam MP Abdul Khaleque Withdraws Resignation From Congress After Meeting Sonia Gandhi
ABP NewsGuwahati: Assam Congress MP Abdul Khaleque, who had resigned from the party on March 15, withdrew his resignation on Wednesday. The MP from Assam’s Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency, Khaleque, met Indian National Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge at his 10 Rajaji Marg residence in New Delhi, and submitted his resignation withdrawal letter on Wednesday noon. In the letter addressed to Kharge, MP Khaleque stated that he had tendered his resignation owing to non-redressal of his grievances and issues by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Kumar Borah and All India Congress Committee in-charges of Assam. Strengthening Congress is the need of hour, hence I withdraw my resignation and wish to work under your and Rahul Gandhi’s able leadership,” Khaleque added in the letter.
