Both of those tactics would certainly help, but before you spend a bunch of money know that you can give yourself quite a bit more screen real estate by tweaking your software settings. To get started, open the System Settings app on your Mac, which you can find by clicking the Apple logo in the top-right corner then clicking System Settings.
