Tech varsity part of NAD, can issue digital records
Thiruvananthapuram: The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has become part of the ‘National Academic Depository’ of the Union government which enables it to issue digital secure certificates to all its students. It is a 24X7 online store house of all academic awards, certificates, diplomas, degrees and marksheets duly digitised and lodged by academic institutions, boards and eligibility assessment bodies. The Ministry of Human Resource Development is planning to make it mandatory for educational institutions to enable digital storage of educational certificates, degrees and awards. Sources said that less than 10 percent of the total number of educational institutions in the state have provided digital educational certificates.
