ROBERT JOBSON: Kate's dodgy touch-up job of William's family photo was an honest mistake. But in a world where the camera DOES lie, this stuff really matters...
Daily MailIt was the image that was supposed to silence the doubters. A picture of the Princess of Wales with her children gathered round her for Mother’s Day, looking happy and healthy, at a time when social media was ablaze with increasingly hysterical rumours about the true nature of her condition since she under went ‘abdominal surgery’ in January. As the whole world now knows, several large photo agencies discovered that ‘the source had manipulated the image’ and suggested that media organisations remove it from their systems. Today it emerged it was Kate herself who performed the dodgy touch-up job on what was, after all, an informal family snap taken by Prince William. When William skipped a memorial service for his godfather King Constantine at St George’s Chapel two weeks ago – an event at which he was due to give a reading – the Press was told the reasons behind the prince’s no-show were personal and he was entitled to his privacy.
