Andhra Pradesh: Fair Remuneration for Tribal Coffee Farmers

Dinesh Kumar, announced on Thursday that coffee farmers will now receive remuneration aligned with prevailing market rates for coffee collected from tribal growers. As per the EPCES committee resolution, farmers will be paid Rs 44 per kilogram for coffee berries and Rs 285 per kilogram for parchment.Dinesh Kumar assured fair pricing for the targeted procurement of 2,000 tonnes of coffee during this financial year. He stressed that farmers need not worry about market price fluctuations.He also informed the media that officials from the GCC will visit farmers directly to procure coffee, eliminating the need for them to travel to market centres. Additionally, stalls will be set up at weekly markets to facilitate moisture testing of parchment at a nominal fee, ensuring that farmers can sell their produce with confidence after verifying moisture content.
