Organised crime syndicate formed to threaten me, party members, alleges NTK functiona

Naam Tamilar Katchi functionary Sattai Durai Murugan has accused the then Tiruchi Superintendent of Police V. Varun Kumar, former BJP functionary Tiruchi Suriya Shiva and others of targeting him and his political party. Under these circumstances, he said that he was shocked to see that certain audio files from his mobile phones, which were seized by the Tiruchi police, were being circulated on the social media by Mr. Suriya Shiva. The petitioner said that Mr. Varun Kumar who happened to be a classmate of Mr. Suriya Shiva abused his official capacity, exercised undue influence on the police officials, accessed the mobile phones and disclosed its contents to Mr. Suriya Shiva who then illegally circulated them on social media. He also accused Mr. Varun Kumar of taking sides with the ruling DMK party, arresting NTK cadre who were tortured in the presence of Mr. Varun Kumar and also passing remarks against the NTK, “which was unbecoming of an IPS officer.” Mr. Suriya Shiva spread false information about the petitioner through a fake audio clip which was later used by Mr. Karikalan who also spread false information about him, he said, adding that an organised crime syndicate had been formed to threaten him and his party members.
