Somewhere inside Camp Randall Stadium, T.J. Watt sat against a hallway wall and tried to hold back tears. “It was like, Wait, what do you mean I’m not going to play football?” Now, six years later, T.J. sees how the lowest day of his career changed the course of his football future. “Obviously I wasn’t happy,” T.J. said, “but I was relieved to finally say, ‘Alright, let’s just get this thing fixed. “That was the only time we’ve ever sat down and watched film together, to this day,” T.J. said. “That’s why I knew he’d be successful playing defense,” said J.J., who now is stumping for T.J. to win his first Defensive Player of the Year award.
