Live MintMumbai: Top industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla has purchased the iconic Jatia House in the plush Malabar Hill area in Mumbai for a whopping Rs425 crore -- making it the priciest property deal in the megapolis. This is the largest house deal in the land-starved city and beats the purchase of another iconic bungalow, Maheshwari House, on the Napean Sea Road for which industrialist Sajjan Jindal of the JSW Group had paid Rs400 crore in 2011. “The Jatia House, which has a built-up area of about 25,000 sqft has been sold at Rs425 crore to Birla,” a JLL official said.
