From BJP-Shiv Sena win to President's Rule: How Maharashtra politics descended into chaos

Later in the evening, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray held a similar press conference where he accused the BJP of lying and said Maharashtra does not trust "Amit Shah and company". A few hours later, Governor Koshyari turned to second-largest party in the Maharashtra assembly -- Shiv Sena -- and asked it to show "willingness and ability" to form the government. A Shiv Sena minister resigned from the Union cabinet on Monday and on Tuesday, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray told the media that his party was working on coming up with a "common minimum programme" for governing Maharashtra with the NCP and the Congress.
