Meta launches a web version of Threads as it struggles to keep users on the mobile app
Meta is to unleash a web version of Threads as usership on the 'Twitter-killer' app has plummeted. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has announced that users will be able to use the record-breaking platform on desktop within the 'next few days', in addition to its mobile app. The reveal comes almost two months after Threads' historic launch on July 6, with users rocketing to more than 100 million by day five. Mark Zuckerberg has announced that Threads will be launched on the web in a 'few days' Threads was first launched in the midst of heightened tensions with Twitter's former CEO, Elon Musk. Meta claims that its new web version will allow users to 'post a Thread, view your feed, and interact with other people's Threads'.
