It's possible: US on working with Taliban to fight ISIS-K threat

The United States might cooperate with the Taliban to fight the terror threat imposed by the ISIS-K in Afghanistan, informed General Mark Miley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. According to a report by Politico, during a Pentagon news briefing with US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday, General Mark Miley initially described the Taliban as a "ruthless group" and said the US is waiting to see "whether or not they change". But on being asked again if the US would continue its association with the Taliban to counter the terrorism threats from the ISIS-K, General Mark Miley took a pause and responded, "It's possible." Even though the defence secretary extended the general's statement about the US' attempt to thwart ISIS-K's threat, he did not say anything about potential cooperation with the Taliban.
