Fathers could get 12 WEEKS of paid paternity leave as part of Theresa May's legacy plans

Theresa May wants to hand new fathers 12 weeks paid paternity leave as part of her legacy plans, it was claimed today. They could get the first four weeks on 90 per cent pay, and a further eight weeks on a standard flat rate. New fathers could get the first four weeks on 90 per cent pay, and a further eight weeks on a standard flat rate Currently partners are legally entitled to two weeks' leave on £148 a week or 90 per cent of normal pay - whichever is lower. Three years ago, the government introduced shared parental leave, which gave couples the option of splitting 50 weeks of leave entitlement and 37 weeks of pay.
