BCom most wanted in Mahatma Gandhi University first allotment

KOCHI: BCom continues to be the subject with the highest demand in arts and science colleges under MG University after the first allotment was declared on Monday. The cut-off marks for BCom in leading aided colleges stands at 95.6 percent while BA English has overtaken BA Economics to be on the second spot this time with a cut-off of 92.1 percent while BA Economics, with a cut-off of 91 percent, has been pushed to third place, according to officials manning the Central Allotment Process for under-graduate admission. There are a total of 26,460 seats under CAP allotment in 154 colleges under the varsity and allotment was done to all these seats in the first leg, said the officials. A total of 70 percent seats of aided colleges and 50 percent seats in self-financing colleges are taken for the CAP while all seats in government colleges come under it.
