Seven people have been arrested and action has been taken against four police officers, including the suspension of three police sub-inspectors, on Tuesday, hours after the security breach at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Tripura’s capital Agartala. ‘Deeply regrettable’: MEA The Ministry of External Affairs reacted to the protests and said: “The incident of the breach of premises at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala is deeply regrettable. Our statement on breach of premises at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Agartala ⬇️https://t.co/hVVB0SITQn pic.twitter.com/li8TtmwfS8 — Randhir Jaiswal December 2, 2024 Bangladesh interim government led by Muhammad Yunus also reacted, saying: “The Government of Bangladesh deeply resents the violent demonstration and attack by a large group of protesters of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity of Agartala on the afternoon of December 2 on the premises of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala.” It further called upon the Indian government to take immediate action to address the incident and undertake a thorough investigation.
