PK arrest: Purandeswari flays police high-handedness
Deccan ChronicleVijayawada: Andhra Pradesh state BJP chief D. Purandeswari condemned the high-handed behaviour of the police by stopping the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at Garikapadu checkpost on Saturday night despite his plea that he wanted to go to his party headquarters in Mangalagiri to attend the PAC meeting. It may be mentioned that in the wake of the arrest of TD supremo and former Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu by the AP CID in Nandyal in connection with the skill development corporation scam, Jana Sena chief wanted to visit Vijayawada and meet Naidu to extend his support. In a letter written to the Director of Gannavaram International Airport, the SP said the Jana Sena chief was set to arrive at Gannavaram Airport after 4 pm. Annoyed over the denial of permission, Pawan started to go Mangalagiri by road and when he reached Garikapadu checkpost, AP police stopped his convoy.
