Five things we learnt about podcasting at OzPod 2019

ABC

Podcasting has reached a tipping point in 2019. Podcast listening continues to grow in Australia The ABC's OzPod survey revealed that more than 30 per cent of Australians are listening to a podcast monthly. This perhaps speaks to the arrival of podcasting as a tailored format in 2019 and the increase in the number of original shows, such as Dirty John and The Clearing, and also news shows built for the podcast audience, such as The Daily from the New York Times and Vox's Today Explained. Keynote speaker Owen Grover, head of podcast app Pocket Casts, said "this is not a medium that's reached its ceiling yet".
