Covid-19: Maharashtra govt to take final decision on lockdown today, says NCP leader Nawab Malik
India TodayThe Nationalist Congress Party leader and Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik on Monday said that the state government is likely to take the final call on full lockdown in the state after a detailed meeting on Monday. The minister also slammed BJP leader and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnvais for demanding a Rs 50,000 crore package before the announcement of the lockdown. " The NCP leader, however, assured that the Maharashtra government will do "what needs to be done without hurting the state's economy". BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has been asking the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of announcing a Rs 50,000-crore package for farmers, labourers and workers of the unorganised sector to offset the losses incurred due to restrictions imposed to curb Covid-19.
