Police have been forced to intervene after hundreds of irate, queue-jumping shoppers swamped a suburban discount store after being forced to wait in line for hours. International discount retailer Panda Mart has been overrun with bargain hunters since it opened its first outlet in Australia just last Thursday. Hundreds of shoppers, desperate for a discount, swarmed Panda Mart's warehouse at the Cranbourne Homemaker Centre on the South Gippsland Highway Police were called to the warehouse as some shoppers pushed past staff and were filmed banging on the warehouse doors after spending hours in line 'I thought the doors were going to fall through, you know. The international discount retailer opened for the first time in Australia, with its store offering shoppers a catalogue of more than 28,000 homeware products One shopper claimed Panda Mart was like buying items online from internet shop Temu but 'in real life'. Panda Mart's Cranbourne warehouse offers shoppers a discounted catalogue of more than 28,000 homeware products and is expected to grow to more than 50,000.
