BJP exploring options to get draft JPC report rejected

The BJP is working on a strategy to muster majority support on the 30-member Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the 2G scam to ensure the rejection of the draft report prepared by chairman P.C. The practice so far has been that the chairman, with the help of the secretariat, prepares a draft report for the consideration of members. But they have not said they will ask the chairman to put the report to vote.An informal meeting of the JPC members opposed to the report is expected where the strategy would be worked out. Separately, the BJP has given a notice for moving a breach of privilege motion in both Houses of Parliament for the leakage of the report.
