C’garh: Social Reintegration of Surrendered Naxals Helped Wane Maoist Influence: Sai

Deccan Chronicle

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday said that his government’s vision to ensure reintegration of surrendered Naxals in the society coupled with the rapid development of infrastructure in Leftwing insurgency-hit Bastar in the state has started yielding results leading to erosion of Maoist bases. Additionally, rapid infrastructural development is being carried out in the Naxal-affected regions, including roads, electricity, education, healthcare, and employment generation”, Mr Sai said. These figures not only reflect the government’s commitment and strategic efficiency but also demonstrate that Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving towards peace and development, free from Naxal violence, he added. Special rehabilitation programmes have been designed for surrendered Naxals, offering them employment opportunities, financial assistance, and reintegration into mainstream society.
