MAGA Republican takes aim at the 'anti-American left' — and pokes fun at their 'grief'

Raw Story

Rep. Andy Biggs took a victory lap in an op-ed published Friday where he put opponents of President-elect Donald Trump on blast and teased the “leftists” post-election stages of grief. Writing for the conservative RedState publication, Biggs fumed about what he said were years of lies about Trump and his supporters – and wondered out loud if those who voted against the incoming president would grow to accept his electoral victory, or “get stuck in anger – the second stage of grief?” “For some the stage of bargaining has begun already,” Biggs wrote Friday. “They are insisting that we, Trump and the MAGA movement, we who insist on the precepts of the Constitution and rule of law, treat our Leftists better than they ever treated Trump or us.” The Arizona lawmaker continued his MAGA-inspired assessment by appearing to re-write history when it came to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and special counsel probe on Russia during Trump’s first term. “That is the only way to restore the rule of law.” An attorney by trade, Biggs added that the rule of law “prevents bullies from overwhelming the weak,” and floated the possibility “that there is some residual desire for justice on the Right.” “Accountability might just help the anti-American Left finally come to acceptance, the final stage of grief,” he wrote.
