10 landslip-hit families at Vilangad in Kozhikode await NIT-C report on rehabilitation

As many as 10 families at Manjacheeli in Vilangad ward of Vanimel grama panchayat in Kozhikode are eagerly awaiting a report from the National Institute of Technology-Calicut, as their fate depends on it. While the Revenue authorities have released a list of people to be rehabilitated, the said 10 families have not been included in it as they have not lost either their houses or land. Only the NIT-C report can convince the government that they too need rehabilitation,” said Selma Raju, vice president of Vanimel grama panchayat. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress unit at Vilangad has filed a complaint with the village officer alleging discrepancies in the list of beneficiaries.
