How Experian is pushing for more diversity in the data industry
The IndependentIt is essential for organisations to create an inclusive environment where people feel welcome and empowered to be their authentic selves. Data science is transforming the way the world works, but it’s no secret that currently there aren’t enough women, or other diverse groups, pursuing this career path. For example,to raise awareness of the opportunities available to students of all backgrounds, Experian recently partnered with The Data Inspiration Group to support its Digdata initiative, a programme of bite-sized, virtual work-experience challenges, live online career panels and classroom resources. We’ve Further to this, as part of our Early Careers programme, we recruited over 100 graduates, apprentices, and placement students in 2022, where women make up 54% of the data related roles. These new joiners, as well as the wider female workforce, have access to a range of exciting opportunities to progress their careers, which includesa women only development programme called ‘Accelerate’, and the 30% Club that provides both mentors and mentees to help boost female representation within business.
