Read our privacy policy Disney favourite Winnie the Pooh will be making his first appearance on a coin as part of a new series from the Royal Mint. Not unlike the Beatrix Potter coin collection, this will be part of a wider Disney collaboration, with Winnie the Pooh’s friends Piglet and Christopher Robin appearing in other coins coming soon. “We’ve minted coins to commemorate key moments and figures in Britain’s history, including literary icons, like Shakespeare and Wordsworth through to Beatrix Potter’s mischievous Peter Rabbit, and we’re delighted to now add A.A. Milne’s loveable Winnie-the-Pooh to the list,” Clare Maclnennan, divisional director of The Royal Mint Experience, says. “Our childhood character coins are encouraging a new generation of coin collectors and we’re delighted to add this iconic character and his friends, to our range.” From 2016 to 2019, a coin celebrating a range of Beatrix Potter’s beloved characters was released by The Royal Mint every year.
