Office Of CGPDTM Withdraws Public Notices W.R.T Abandonment of Trademark Applications

The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks undertakes to withdraw public notices on the abandonment of trademark applications before the Delhi High Court in a writ petition filed by the Intellectual Property Attorneys Association. Intellectual Property Attorney Association had moved a writ petition before Delhi High Order against the public notices dated 06/02/2023 which was issued by the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks. The Controller General of Patent Designs and Trademark vide its 27/03/23 notice had given the final opportunity to the Applicants to make submissions before the Grievance Cell of the Registrar of Trade Marks by 11/05/2023 The Intellectual Property Attorney Association moved the writ petition citing grievances on the abandoned status of several trademark applications. On 13/04/2023 this writ petition came up before the Court and the Office of Controller General of Patent Designs and Trademarks undertook to withdraw both public notices and submitted that all the applications will be reverted to their previous status, within a time of 10 days from the Court’s order and all the applications will move before the Trade Marks Registry.
