The light source, the High Energy Photon Source, is a major science infrastructure project in China built by the Institute of High Energy Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. 2021年9月25日,参观者在中关村论坛展览(科博会)观看展出的高能同步辐射光源模型。(图片来源:新华社) 【知识点】 一直以来,我国都很重视同步辐射光源的发展建设。迄今,我国大陆地区已经完成了三代同步辐射装置的发展建设。第一代是1989年建成的依托北京正负电子对撞机的北京同步辐射装置,第二代是1990年建成的合肥同步辐射光源,第三代则是2009年建成的上海光源。开放运行以来,各装置孕育了许多重量级的科学研究成果。 高能同步辐射光源(HEPS)是国家重大科技基础设施建设“十三五”规划布局的大科学工程项目之一,是我国第一台高能同步辐射光源,也是世界上亮度最高的第四代同步辐射光源之一。它如同一个超大号的X光机,可以“照亮”微观世界,通过对微观结构多维度、实时、原位表征,为物质做“体检”,揭示物质微观结构生成及演化机制。HEPS建成后将成为世界最先进的X射线光子科学研究平台之一,作为探索物质内部结构与变化过程的强有力的科学工具,为基础科学和工程科学等领域原创性、突破性创新研究提供重要支撑。 HEPS于2019年6月启动建设,计划2025年建成验收。项目由中国科学院高能物理研究所作为法人单位承担建设。目前,HEPS已全面进入科研设备安装阶段。HEPS将和我国现有的光源形成能区互补,对提升我国国家发展战略与前沿基础科学和高技术领域的原始创新能力具有重大意义。 【重要讲话】 加强基础研究,是实现高水平科技自立自强的迫切要求,是建设世界科技强国的必由之路。 Strengthening basic research is …
