
BIS opens specialised textile testing lab in Hyderabad
The HinduNational standards body the Bureau of Indian Standards has established a laboratory exclusively for the testing of specialised textile products in Hyderabad. The laboratory will play a vital role in strengthening the quality ecosystem in the textile sector with its state-of-the-art testing facilities, BIS director general Pramod Kumar Tiwari said at the inauguration of the lab in Moulali here on Monday. The Hyderabad branch laboratory is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s textile standards, supporting manufacturers in enhancing their product quality, and contributing to the overall growth of the textile industry. Senior BIS officials, including deputy director general Nishat Sultana Haque; DDG and Head-Southern Regional Laboratory and Hyderabad Branch Laboratory Meenakshi Ganesan and Head-Hyderabad Branch Office Srikanth as well as heads of BIS laboratories from across India participated in the programme.
