Eight fishermen from Vizag detained in Bangladesh

Eight fishermen from Visakhapatnam have been detained by the Bangladesh Coast Guard after they strayed into territorial waters. The fishermen sailed from the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour on September 24 in a mechanised boat ‘Amrita’, carrying eight crew. The boat reportedly strayed into the territorial waters and was held by the Bangladesh Coast Guard on October 2. Satyanarayana Murthy, fishermen straying into territorial waters of neighbouring countries is a common thing and there is a bipartite agreement between Bangladesh and India.
