Rajasthan schools can demand fees from students during lockdown: High Court

The Rajasthan High Court has said that the schools in the state can demand fees from students during this lockdown period if they want. While issuing their decision regarding the school fees, the court also stated that if the parent cannot pay the school fees during the lockdown period for any reason, the school does not have the authority to strike the student’s name off the school list. The court took these decisions while during the hearing on the plea filed by advocate Rajeev Bhushan Bansal, regarding the payment of school fees during the nationwide covid-19 lockdown. Parents unable to pay fees: Bansal Advocate Rajeev Bhushan Bansal filed a PIL in the Rajasthan High Court which demanded that the school should not ask for fees during the lockdown period as the country is heading towards a financial crisis due to the rapid spread of coronavirus.
