Good support for immunisation drive in Tiruchi district: WHO officer

Tiruchi district is performing well in terms of immunisation, due to wide-ranging public acceptance of vaccinations, and adequate healthcare support, Saira Banu, surveillance medical officer, World Health Organisation, NPSP Unit, Puducherry, said on Thursday. The Deputy Director of Health Services said that people in Tiruchi were quite open to the immunisation programme. “We also ensure that the medical workers reach out to those who express concerns about the vaccines,” the official said. Besides immunisation, the programme also works towards capacity building of health workers.
