Two-way freight train from Qingdao to Mannheim opens

The Trans-Eurasia-Express, which runs between Qingdao and Mannheim, Germany, was opened on Feb 18 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province. A train, carrying 100 twenty-foot equivalent units of chemical raw materials, vehicle parts, daily necessities and other goods worth about $2.5 million, left from the Multimodal Transport Center at the SCO demonstration zone. Customs officials inspect the international freight train heading for Mannheim, Germany in Qingdao. The two-way freight train line crosses the Eurasian continent for more than 10,000 kilometers, traveling through China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, and Germany. On Feb 18, Qingdao hosts a launch ceremony for the Qingdao-Mannheim two-way freight train.
