New UCLA gymnastics coach Chris Waller promises the same magic in program

After working for 17 years as Valorie Kondos Field’s understudy, Chris Waller is ready to continue the success she established for UCLA’s gymnastics program. “There’s a really great balance between cherishing and loving the legacy that is UCLA gymnastics and embracing this new chapter,” Waller, 51, said. “That palpable, joyful, but strong energy.” :: As Kondos Field’s longtime assistant, Waller was the “yin to her yang,” the former head coach often said.
