17-year-old's suicide note says he was sexually exploited, police book teacher

A 30-year-old school teacher has been arrested on charges of sexually exploiting a minor student in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district. Prashant Agarwal, Superintendent of Police in Bilaspur, told India Today that the boy left behind a suicide note written in code. “We also wanted to investigate if it was a case of infatuation or a one-sided affair but the screenshots sent to his friends suggest the teacher and student were involved,” said SP Prashant Agarwal. The police have booked the teacher under the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act and section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
