CBI raids ex-Kolkata Police chief Rajeev Kumar's house, likely to be arrested soon
India TodayThe Central Bureau of Investigation is carrying out searches at 5 locations in Kolkata, including the IPS officers' mess, to locate the 'untraceable' senior IPS officer Rajeev Kumar. The CBI has constituted a special team to find out whereabouts of former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, officials said. Top sources within the CBI told India Today TV, "After writing a letter to the DGP of West Bengal, we also wrote letter to the lawyer of Rajeev Kumar and asked him to direct Kumar to join the investigation. Rajeev Kumar, the untraceable former Kolkata Police Commissioner, through his counsel has sent a communication to DGP saying he is pursuing legal remedies after the Calcutta High Court order and as he is out on leave, he cannot appear before CBI for next few days. The CBI claimed that as the head of the Special Investigation Team was probing the chit fund scam, Rajeev Kumar was responsible for the destruction of evidence to protect the accused.
